Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (plant-based)
- 1 large egg (optional)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
- 1/4 cup Hemptyful's Chocolate Orange Hemp spread
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well combined
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter or oil
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil if necessary.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until the other side is golden brown.
- Once cooked, spread a generous layer of Hemptyful's Chocolate Orange spread on each pancake while still warm.
- Serve the pancakes warm, topped with fresh fruit, nuts, or whipped cream if desired.
